Newborn Photos

We decided twins deserved a professional photo shoot and I'm so glad we did.  Amy Winsor did such an amazing job of capturing our family, their love for Aubrey and Maddie, and the preciousness of these early sleepy baby days.

Aubrey and Maddie
From the moment I found out we were having identical twins I've been trying to figure out how I was going to tell them apart.  Like I mentioned before we found out that Aubrey has a tiny hemangioma on her left side just above her rib cage after being home for 4 days and that was a total game changer for me.  In the hospital they were never unhooked from their monitors at the same time for long enough to get swapped and then for those first 4 days at home we actually kept their ankle bracelets on so that I wouldn't get them mixed up.  Needless to say I was very relieved to find this sweet identifier at their 4 day post discharge appointment.  I can rest easy now knowing that even though I do get them mixed up when they're dressed alike I will always have a way to know who is who.  For pictures I always try to put Aubrey on the left and Maddie on the right.  I believe I did that for all the photos in this shoot, although I'm certain I won't always remember to do this.  I also quickly assigned them different colors to try to make it a little easier on everyone.  Aubrey is Aqua and Maddie is the other color, typically pink, although her swaddle is navy blue so go figure.  Guess you have to read my mind but i'm hoping as I go through pictures I will remember my thought process and be able to identify who is who.

Auntie Katie made these sweet onsies for the girls.  Aren't they perfect?
