I love our first day of school traditions possibly more than the kids although I think they appreciate the fun breakfast. On this morning they're usually all a little nervous and too excited to really eat but I do it anyway. This day is always bittersweet for both them and me. A part of us is ready to get back into the rhythm of school, to friends and teachers and structure, but then there's also a big part of us that liked our time together at home. We find ourselves here every year and this one was no different. Cooper is in school all day this year, which is nice for me because I won't have to do as much driving, but also sad. It's always kinda weird that first year when they're gone all day. It makes them feel so grown up.

Always have to snap a picture of this one quick or he'll sneak into class without even saying goodbye. Cooper didn't seem to nervous about a full day at school. He was excited to pack a lunch for the first time and headed off without looking back just like he always does.
Wyatt headed right in. We expect him to have a blast this year! Sadie had these two teachers last year and loved them. He's also starting the year sitting next to his best friend Cole so not much to complain about here.
I can barely walk Sadie in anymore because her little sisters never want to say goodbye and honestly I'm not sure Sadie wants to say goodbye either. It was especially hard this year with the twins. Sadie is always a little reluctant to head off to school. I think she would have been happy to stay at home and help me with the babies if I'd let her, but I know how important this experience is for her growth.
