10 Years

10 years....
That's how long it's been since we've heard him laugh or felt his embrace or discussed matters big or small.  That's how long we've missed him... how long he's been in heaven with his Savior ... and A LOT has happened since then.  A lot of life...a lot of kids... a lot of ups and downs... a lot of things we would have loved to have heard his perspective on... a lot of memories we wish we could have shared with him.

I'd give almost anything for another chance to sit and talk with him about life, parenting, marriage, Christ, but I know if I was able to tell him this he'd remind me that God is Sovereign...  He'd laugh and say he wasn't going to grow old gracefully anyway... He'd point us to his only hope in life and in death CHRIST!

10 feels big... a  decade... Like we aren't even the same people we were 10 years ago and that makes it feel a little harder this year... a little sadder... a little more reminiscent.

We celebrated Dad's 60th birthday this weekend with a favorite meal and quilts made by Mom from his clothes...so...many many memories!  I really can't even fathom that it's been 10 years.

It was sweet to see these little ones laying on their Grandpa's clothes.  What a legacy he's left in all of our lives.
