Big Sister

Well Cooper isn't here yet but we've been talking about it a lot with the kids.  Today we took them to the hospital to see where he was going to be born and we've been reading these stories each night called I'm a Big Sister and I'm a Big Brother.  Sadie had the book when we were preparing for Wyatt too and has read it so many times that she now has it memorized and reads it to us each night.

Come Follow Me

Our church had their annual Thanksgiving Feast last weekend and we were excited that Sadie was not only old enough to get up and sing with the kids but she was brave enough as well.  She happily got on stage, but as you can see wasn't so sure about singing until she finally found us in the crowd, which I must admit made us smile.

Picking Pumpkins

Althought we didn't quite get around to carving any pumpkins this year, as the kids ended up getting sick the weekend before Halloween, we still had a blast picking out our pumpkins.

Happy Halloween!

Sadie and Wyatt LOVE Monster's Inc.!  So this year thanks to Auntie Amy's idea and Grandma's amazing crafting abilities we ended up with these great costumes.  Inorder to get as much wear out of them as possible, and as many pictures as the kids would stand for, we began the morning in downtown Glendora for the yearly holiday stroll.  It seemed a bit crazier this year than last, but maybe that's because our kids are a bit crazier and a whole lot more mobile this year.
Sadie a.k.a. "Boo", Wyatt a.k.a "Mike Wazowski", and Sawyer a.k.a. "the neighborhood giraffe"
Mike's eye actually lights up so who can blame Sawyer for being so amused.
Mason, the milkman, also joined us for our stroll.
Wyatt may or may not have been bribed to put his costume on.  I think this picture captures his feelings on the whole situation pretty well.
 Boo and her Daddy
Hey we got them all sitting at one time.  AMAZING!!!!
Wyatt stayed sitting on his pumpkin for quite awhile.  I'm not sure if he just liked it or actually couldn't move. but I'm going to go with couldn't move.
 Collecting Pumpkins
 Daddy and his little monsters!
 Ya, definitely can't move.
Bot of my kiddos decided they preferred trick-or-treating with Glynn.  At least I had my little soccer ball, Cooper.

Happy Birthday Little Chimp!

October 13, 2009
It's crazy to think that Sadie is already 3.  We remember so clearly her first days with us.  How overwhelmed we felt at times and how she was such a gift, filling us with joy during one of our most difficult seasons.  She still does that.  She continues to drive us crazy, and overwhelm us, and surprise us, and stretch us, and challenge us, and melt our hearts many times every day.  We are so thankful for her, and so excited to watch as she continues to develop her own unique personality and gifts, becoming more and more of the person that God has created her to be.

Sadie's 3rd Birthday
Our morning started with Mickey Mouse Club House.  These 3 had a lot of fun sharing a room for the weekend but definitely didn't sleep quite as much as their parents would have liked.
Next Sadie opened her new pretend kitchen which Brandon and I spent a few too many hours working on.

Basically I found these really cute ideas on pinterest and then sweet talked my hubby into creating the pretend kitchen that I would have loved to have had as a little girl.  I'm pretty sure it was a little more than he signed up for but I think it turned out great and hopefully our kiddos play with it for many years to come.
This is what we started with.  A $30 thrift store entertainment center which we sanded, put new doors on,  painted, and decorated.

The Completed Project!

Since Sadie's nickname, The Chimp, seems to have stuck we decided to do a sock monkey birthday this year.

 The Birthday Girl!
 Yummy!
Our ever resourceful Wyatt decided to eat his cupcake with a spoon from Sadie's new tea set.
Thank you to all of you who have come along side us in this journey of parenthood and who love on Sadie like she was your own.  We are so thankful for you and felt truly blessed, as we celebrated her birthday, to be surrounded by so many people who care for us.
