A Getaway on the Coast!

During our time in Oregon we had a chance to take a quick getaway to the coast.  We spent the first day in Seaside, Oregon with the kids, Grandma, and Auntie Kendy.
 Smile!

 We love you Auntie Kendy!

 Riding with style.

"Little Boy!"

Our attempt at a cute family photo.

Look what my Auntie Kendy taught me to do!

 Time to snuggle.

If they look tired, they were.
I think we wore them out.

Our sweet little squirt!

After that we headed back down the coast to Tillamook where we stopped at the Tillamook Cheese Factory before parting ways with Grandma and the kids.

Brandon and I spent the next two and a half days exploring the coast and spending some much needed time together.  It's been a long time since we've had a chance to hang out as a couple, to eat slowly, and to wake up whenever we want.

Thank you to Grandma and all the other hands who entertained our little ones while we were away.  You are a blessing to us!!!

Getting Back to Our Roots

Life up in Oregon is a little different from life here at home, but we love it!  It was especially fun this time as the kids are a little older and a little more excited about being outside.  There were so many new things for them to do and see.
Wyatt quickly discovered that his favorite part of farm life is riding on the quads.  He simply wasn't satisfied unless he was outside and once he was out, there was no keeping him off the quads.  By the end of our trip he could practically climb on and drive himself.

Uncle Robert

Incase you didn't believe me about him trying to drive it himself.

What happened to Daddy?  I'm not done riding yet!!!

Uncle Ryan to the rescue!

Yes, there is something dead on the front of this quad.  Only in Oregon!

Sadie wasn't sure about the quad for the first week or so.  Every day we'd ask if she wanted a ride and she'd say, very seriously, "Maybe Later."

When later finally came she couldn't get enough either

Target always reminds me of Dad.
One of my favorite parts of being out on the dairy with the kids are all the memories it brings back from my own childhood and especially memories of my Dad!  This place will always be his and I'm so thankful that my brothers are willing to put in all the work it takes to keep it running.  I can't say enough how it fills my heart to watch my kids experience this life.

 Feeding calves with the boys.
The calf behind us is named Sadie.  Isn't she cute!

Such a big helper.

 Lovin' Life!

 Making new friends.

Disneyland

Last weekend we had the opportunity to take Sadie and Wyatt to Disneyland for the very first time.  Brandon was one of the Project Managers for the new Car's Land, which is opening next weekend, and Disney hosted what they call a "soft opening" for all the contractors and imagineers.  We were Soooo excited to check it out!  Afterall, we've only watched the movie with Sadie maybe 200 times. :)  She can literally recite half of it.  Anyway, although we weren't allowed to take any pictures we can definately testify to the fact that it's AMAZING! (especially if you love the movie and we do)
 Mickey's Car
Sadie's favorite ride was Dumbo.
Small World
A Bugs Life

...And yes, although we don't have as many pictures as I'd like to prove it, we did wear them out
Mickey got lots of love as the evening progressed.

Where Did March Go?

Well between the fact that I started subbing again and that it feels like someone was sick all month this past month just snuck by, but I still have some fun memories to post so we're backtracking a bit.

In March we added some new sprinklers to our front lawn.  Neither Brandon or I are very good with the whole landscaping thing but we try and since our lawn has been struggling, to say the least, Brandon decided maybe more water would be the answer.  Sadie loves being outside with Daddy so this was a great Saturday project for us.

Also in March, our washing machine decided to finally give it up.  It was a sad day as we had been limping our old one along for the past year trying not to have to drop money on a new set yet, but it was finally time.  So, Brandon moved the old ones out, quickly remodeled our Laundry Room, and no sooner was it finished than the new set was delivered.  Yay!!!  Who would have thought doing laundry could be so fun.

Our new laundry room.

You can see that there is still a little work to be done such as baseboards and trim but I'm loving that the tile now extends all the way from the side door to the kitchen, that I have a new counter top for the laundry room cabinet, and my beautiful new machines.  Thanks Honey!!!!

Hunting For Eggs

Last Saturday we attended our church's Pancake Breakfast/ Egg Hunt.  We had a great time!  My kids are BIG fans of pancakes and as it turns out if the eggs are filled with candy they are highly motivated by them as well.

First, we played with our baskets ...

then we collected our eggs...

and finally we counted our loot.
